Project Agape Gift Boxes Don’t forget Project Agape gift boxes are due in October.  Anyone interested in making a donation directly to Project Agape can do so on the Project Agape website.

Upward Sign-ups The sign-ups for Upward flag football and cheerleading are Friday, September 8th and Friday, September 15th from 5:00-7:00.  Volunteers are needed to assist either inside the Boyette Building and outside on the field.

Sunday School Class   The adult Sunday School small group will begin September 10th.  The book is How The Gospel Brings Us All The Way Home by Derek W.H. Thomas.   Copies are available for those interested to join.   This study will continue through Sunday, November 19th.

Wayne County Fair   This year’s county fair begins on Thursday, September 28th and runs through Saturday, October 7th.  Please pray for the success of this work.  Also, take a look at sign-up sheets available outside the entrance of the sanctuary.   It helps the planning team greatly to know what slots are filled to make sure staffing needs are covered.

Upward Season Kickoff  The start of this year’s flag football and cheerleading is Saturday, October 7th.   The season will continue through Saturday, December 2nd.

NC GMC Annual Conference   The North Carolina GMC’s first annual conference is scheduled for Friday, October 6th at Crown Arena in Fayetteville.   Those who are interested to attend this historic event need to sign up as soon as possible because seating is limited.  Go to the NC GMC website and use the link for lay visitor registration.

Project Agape Event   New Hope is the host for the Goldsboro District Project Agape event on Wednesday, October 11th.  The session will begin at 6:00 with light refreshments in the fellowship hall.  At 6:30 we will move into the sanctuary for a presentation followed by Q and A.  The presenter is Nara Melkonyan, director for Project Agape in Armenia.

Homecoming Sunday   This year’s Homecoming is Sunday, October 29th.  A potluck celebration will follow the worship service.

Circle Connections   The GMC hopes to build stronger connections through circle partnerships.  There are 15 churches in the Goldsboro District.  In the New Hope circle are five other churches:  Jefferson,  Daniels, Pine Forest, Providence, and Bethel.  The goal for circle connections is to partner in ministry together.  Our first cooperative ministry will focus on assisting the Ukrainian refugee family as they settle in Goldsboro.  We will continue to stay informed concerning all the ways we can help the family make this community their new home.
